Teatre Condal, Theater in Paral·lel avenue, Barcelona, Spain
Condal is a theater on Avinguda Paral·lel in Barcelona with two performance spaces of different sizes. The main hall holds roughly 700 spectators while a smaller room accommodates about 50 people and features traditional Italian-style stage design.
The building was founded in 1903 by Italian brothers and originally served as a theater house. During the 1960s and 1970s it was converted into a cinema before returning to theatrical use in 1983.
The venue serves as a comedy hub where audiences gather regularly to experience local and national productions. The programming shapes how people interact with the space and what they expect when they visit.
The venue provides wheelchair-accessible facilities for visitors with reduced mobility and a cafeteria in the lobby area. Checking the program ahead of time helps with planning and arriving early allows time to find your way around.
Since the 2023-24 season a Spectator Council has allowed regular attendees to share their thoughts about performances. This unusual approach brings audience opinions directly into how shows are chosen and presented.
