Platja de l'Estanyet

Platja de l'Estanyet is a flat, pebbly beach on the Catalan Mediterranean coast that stretches for about half a kilometer. The shoreline consists of fine gravel mixed with sand, sloping gently into shallow, clear water.

The site began as a marshy wetland with a small pond before becoming the beach it is today. During the Spanish Civil War, it served as a military defensive position with fortified structures.

Local fishermen maintain traditional rod fishing practices at this beach, passing down techniques through generations while preserving regional maritime customs.

The beach is easily accessible from nearby roads and benefits from regular maintenance during the summer months. Visitors should wear water shoes because the bottom is pebbly rather than sandy.

Remnants of fortifications from the Spanish Civil War remain visible in the sand along the shoreline. These stone structures are testament to the beach's military past and can be discovered while walking along the coast.
