Baqueira-Beret, Ski resort in Val d'Aran, Spain.
The ski area extends across 161 kilometers of marked pistes, combining three zones of Baqueira, Beret, and Bonaigua between 1,500 and 2,610 meters elevation.
Local authorities in the Aran Valley established the resort in the 1960s, with Jorge Jordana Pozas and Luis Arias leading the development of winter sports facilities.
The Val d'Aran location combines Spanish, French, and Catalonian influences, reflecting in the regional architecture and mountain gastronomy served at slope-side restaurants.
The resort provides 36 lifts, including one gondola and 20 chairlifts, transporting visitors to different sections while offering equipment rentals and instruction programs.
The Spanish royal family regularly visits this northeastern resort, which receives consistent snowfall from November through April due to its Atlantic-facing mountain position.
