La Mola

La Mola is a mountain summit in Matadepera that rises to approximately 1100 meters and is composed of conglomerate, sandstone, and lutite rock layers. These geological materials create distinctive formations that give the peak its recognizable appearance and structure.

The monastery of Sant Llorenç de Munt was built at the summit in the early 11th century and remains a key landmark. This construction reflects the site's importance for religious communities in medieval times.

The mountain forms part of Sant Llorenç del Munt Natural Park, where local residents maintain hiking traditions through marked trails and organized activities.

Several hiking paths lead to the summit for visitors of different abilities. Good hiking boots and water are essential, particularly during warmer months when the sun exposure is stronger.

The mountain restaurant at the summit receives its supplies by traditional mule transport, a method that has persisted for generations. This working system demonstrates how historical logistics can coexist with contemporary facilities.
