La Granja

La Granja is a manor estate in western Mallorca featuring gardens, residential buildings, and natural water springs on the grounds. The property encompasses agricultural areas and living spaces that reflect the structure of a traditional rural Mallorcan finca.

The Cistercian order established their first monastery on the site in 1239 after Count Nuno Sans donated the land to them. The property later evolved into an important agricultural estate in the region.

The mansion displays traditional Mallorcan crafts and farming methods that reflect how rural communities lived and worked. The rooms show the daily practices and skills that were essential to life in the countryside.

The property has been closed to visitors since September 2022 following its sale to private owners. You should check in advance whether access is possible or if the estate can be viewed from outside the grounds.

A natural water spring on the grounds creates a water jet that shoots several meters into the air through natural pressure. This phenomenon results from the geological features of the subsoil in this area.
