Mendaur is a mountain in the Malerreka Valley in Navarre, standing at 1131 meters with steep slopes covered in diverse vegetation. The trails pass through different plant zones and offer varied landscapes throughout the climb.
A chapel dedicated to the Holy Trinity was built in 1693 near the summit and escaped demolition in 1781 despite accusations of harboring bandits. The structure stands as a key monument from that period in the region.

The main trail begins at the village of Aurtitz, where parking is available near the Mendaur reservoir at 684 meters elevation. From there the route continues with a climb of approximately 450 meters to reach the summit.
At the Buztitz col, located at 916 meters, a standing stone menhir marks the path toward the mountain's final approach. Many hikers pass this ancient marker without noticing its historical presence on the trail.
