Gorliz

Gorliz is a strand on Spain's northern coast that extends for 842 meters with soft golden sand and natural rock formations along its edges. The strand is about 130 meters wide and bordered by dunes and coastal cliffs.

The strand was home to early human settlements, showing continuous occupation in this region since prehistoric times. Archaeological traces reveal a long history of coastal use and habitation.

Fishermen work along both ends of the strand, keeping alive the skilled crafts and knowledge passed down through generations in this Basque community. You can see these traditional practices in daily use when you visit.

The strand is accessible via several entry points, some designed for people with reduced mobility. Lifeguard services, showers, and changing facilities are available during the summer season.

When the tide recedes, small natural pools fill with marine life across the wide sand. These shallow pools allow visitors to watch starfish, crabs, and other sea creatures up close.
