Casa Rull, Art Nouveau house in Reus, Spain.

Casa Rull is a residential building featuring a brick and stone facade with curved lines and botanical ornaments reflecting turn-of-the-century design principles. The structure demonstrates layered construction techniques where masonry and facing materials work together to create its ornamented surface.

Built in 1901 by architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner, the house emerged during the peak of Catalan Modernisme, when northeastern Spanish cities were transforming their residential architecture. This period saw designers experimenting with new materials and forms to create homes that broke from conventional styles.

The house reflects the artistic values of early 20th-century Catalan residential design and remains a visible example of how local craftsmen approached decorative building techniques. Its presence in the neighborhood shows the architectural tastes that shaped the city during this period.

The building sits along Sant Joan Street where it is easily visible from the sidewalk, allowing visitors to observe the facade details from street level. The exterior remains accessible for viewing at any time, making it convenient to examine the ornamental surfaces and structural features.

The brick and stone ornaments on the facade employ a subtle layering technique where materials are stacked and arranged to create visual depth and shadow play. This constructive method often goes unnoticed by passersby who do not take time to examine the surface closely.
