Castle of Santorcaz, Medieval fortress in Santorcaz, Spain.

The Torremocha Castle features an oval layout with walls reaching 1.6 meters in thickness and dimensions of 110 meters from north to south.

Built in the 14th century under Archbishop Pedro Tenorio's command, this fortress replaced an earlier 12th-century structure and served as support for Alcala de Henares.

The castle transformed from an archbishop's residence into a prison for clergy members during Archbishop Carrillo's governance between 1445 and 1482.

The castle remains stand within a public park, with certain sections accessible to visitors under protection of Spanish Historical Heritage laws.

Cardinal Cisneros and Princess of Eboli Ana de Mendoza were among the notable prisoners held within these fortress walls.
