Castillo de los Duques de Alba, Medieval castle and tower in Alba de Tormes, Spain.
The castle structure features a primary tower known as Torre del Homenaje, which stands as the last remaining of six original defensive towers.
King Ferdinand II of León constructed the initial watchtower in the 12th century, which King Sancho IV of Castile later transformed into a fortified castle.
The castle walls contain Renaissance frescoes depicting the Battle of Mühlberg, painted by artists Cristóbal Passin and Miguel Ruíz de Carvajal.
Visitors can access the castle daily from 10 AM to 2 PM and 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM, with general admission at 3 euros and reduced tickets at 2 euros.
Archaeological excavations since 1991 have revealed numerous artifacts and structural elements, including a sepulchral slab belonging to the Third Duke of Alba.
