El Portezuelo spans across the El Socorro Valley in the upper region of Tegueste municipality, encompassing five distinct residential areas at 465 meters above sea level.
The settlement emerged as part of Tegueste's territorial organization under Guanche Mencey leadership before Spanish colonization in the 15th century.
The neighborhood celebrates the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Saint Anthony the Abbot with processions featuring boats, carts, livestock, and folklore groups.
The TF-154 road connects El Portezuelo to Las Toscas, while TITSA bus service provides transportation between La Laguna and Las Toscas through El Socorro.
