El Cavaller de Vidrà, Historical farmhouse in Vidrà, Spain.
El Cavaller de Vidrà features three floors with a prominent central section, multiple balconies, windows, and a Baroque chapel dedicated to the Virgin of Mercy.
The farmhouse origins trace back to the 13th century when Guillem Cavaller acquired a house, remaining in the same family for twelve generations until 1640.
This mountain manor represents a departure from traditional local architecture, constructed as a single unified structure with consistent architectural design throughout the building.
The construction of the current building in 1787 by a French architect cost approximately 9,500 pounds and incorporated both Baroque and Neoclassical architectural elements.
During the Carlist Wars, El Cavaller de Vidrà served as both a military headquarters and a school for training soldiers.
