Real Monasterio de San Joaquín y Santa Ana, Baroque monastery in Valladolid, Spain.
The Real Monasterio de San Joaquín y Santa Ana features an elliptical floor plan covered by a corresponding dome supported by Tuscan pilasters and large entablature.
Built between 1780 and 1787 under King Carlos III, the monastery replaced an older convent from 1596 that housed the Bernardine Recollect nuns community.
The monastery museum contains three paintings by Francisco Goya and important Spanish Baroque sculptures by Gregorio Fernández and Pedro de Mena.
The monastery received Cultural Interest designation in 1956 and currently offers guided tours through its religious art museum and architectural spaces.
In 2016, the monastery presented Mozart and Salieri's cantata K. 477a Per la ricuperata salute di Ofelia, after the score remained lost for over two centuries.
