Playa del Hipódromo

Playa del Hipódromo is a Mediterranean beach in Melilla stretching about 750 meters along the coast with golden sand and moderate wave conditions. The shoreline supports swimming and various water activities throughout the year.

The beach underwent significant changes in 1926 when authorities removed wooden structures due to sea storm damage and coastal erosion concerns. This transformation shaped the appearance we see today.

The beach provides ramps, showers, and restrooms for convenient access and comfort during your visit. More than 100 parking spaces are within easy walking distance from the shoreline.

The beach sits near the Puerto Deportivo Noray marina with direct views of Mediterranean maritime traffic and the North African coast. From here you can watch ships pass and feel the geographical proximity to Africa.
