Parc de la Devesa, Urban park in Girona, Spain

Parc de la Devesa is a large park in Girona situated between three rivers, with pathways connecting various areas throughout the grounds. The space features sports fields, an equestrian center, rest zones, and a congress palace for hosting events.

In 1423, Queen Maria Victoria donated the land to the city to help prevent flood damage to surrounding areas. This origin as a protective measure shaped the location into a lasting community space.

The park hosts the annual Sant Narcis Festival and draws people for concerts and community gatherings. You can observe visitors moving between open lawns and tree groves, using the space for local celebrations and leisure.

Multiple pathways cross through the green space, allowing easy movement between different zones and facilities. Comfortable shoes are recommended if you plan to explore the entire grounds.

The plane trees here reach heights around 60 meters and rank among the tallest of their kind in urban settings. These towering trees create a canopy that feels older and wilder than typical city parks.
