Tower and walls of the Borgias, Gothic tower and defensive walls in Canals, Spain
The Tower and walls of the Borgias consist of a medieval fortification structure with Gothic elements and thick stone walls near Valencia.
Built between the 13th and 14th centuries during Muslim rule, the tower later became part of a palace owned by the influential Borgia family.
The tower stands as a testament to Valencian Gothic architecture and represents the early foundations of the Borgia dynasty in the region.
The monument opens for visitors through arrangements with the Canals town hall, which acquired and restored the structure in 1995.
Pope Callixtus III was born within these walls, marking the beginning of the Borgia family's rise to power in European religious history.
