Museo de Almería, Archaeological museum in central Almería, Spain.

The Museo de Almería is a modern four-story building in the city center housing regional archaeological collections. The displays range from prehistoric settlements through Roman to Islamic artifacts, showing the different cultures that shaped this area.

The museum began in 1934 with just a few rooms in an arts school before relocating to a larger venue in 1995. Its current modern building expanded the collection and made the region's archaeological treasures accessible to far more visitors.

The museum displays how people lived in this region across thousands of years, from the first settlers through Roman and Islamic periods. The exhibition helps visitors understand the layers of local history through objects and reconstructions showing how life changed here over time.

The building is easily reached from the city center and the galleries are clearly marked throughout. Visitors should allow time to move through the floors, with lower levels showing the oldest finds arranged in chronological order.

One room displays actual tomb layouts with replica skeletons positioned exactly as they were discovered during excavations. This display gives visitors a rare view of how ancient people were buried in this region.
