Antic Hospital de Santa Caterina, Baroque hospital in Girona, Spain
The Antic Hospital de Santa Caterina features stone-carved walls, 24 semicircular windows, and attached semi-columns framing the central portal.
Construction of this medical facility began in 1666 under Bishop Josep Ninot's supervision and reached completion in 1679 with a pharmacy addition.
The building now houses government offices of the Generalitat de Catalunya and includes the Josep Irla Auditorium displaying the painting 'The Great Day of Girona'.
The former hospital stands on the left bank of the Onyar River and contains exhibition spaces that present regional history and institutional activities.
The restored historical pharmacy maintains its original collection of pharmaceutical instruments dating from modifications between 1830 and 1847.
