Arreplegats de la Zona Universitària

The Arreplegats de la Zona Universitária is a human towers group that coordinates many participants in building tall structures layer by layer. Each person takes on a specific role in the formation, working together to create a stable construction that rises upward.

The group was founded in 1995 when university students began to revive interest in traditional Catalan practices. It started as a way to keep these customs alive within an academic community.

Students and local residents come together to practice an old Catalan tradition of building human towers as a living part of their community. This shared activity connects young people from different backgrounds through a custom that has been passed down for generations.

Training happens multiple times each week at locations near the campus, where people learn the techniques and positions needed for the towers. You should be in good physical condition and ready for demanding work when joining this group.

Members come from different fields of study and bring varied backgrounds to their shared practice. These connections across different academic areas create friendships and bonds that might not happen elsewhere on campus.
