Aubert is a mountain village in Vielha e Mijaran located in the Val d'Aran region, characterized by tightly grouped stone structures that follow the natural slope. The buildings are constructed from fieldstone and connected by narrow pathways that wind between the homes.

The village became part of the administrative unit Aubèrt e Betlan in 1970, when municipal consolidations reshaped the boundaries of Vielha e Mijaran. This merger was one of several changes to local governance that happened across the mountain region during that period.

The houses show how Aranese mountain people built their homes using local stone and traditional methods that suited the steep terrain. Walking through the streets reveals how these construction choices shaped the way residents lived and moved through the settlement.

The main route to the village follows the N-230 road from Vielha heading toward France, with the settlement appearing shortly after leaving the town center.
