Finca de Ferro, Residential building in Sant Francesc district, Valencia, Spain.
Finca de Ferro is a residential building in central Valencia located at the intersection of Calle Xàtiva and Plaza de San Agustín. The tower rises approximately 85 meters (279 feet) and contains 22 stories.
The building was completed in 1962, designed by architect Vicente Figuerola Benavent, and was Valencia's tallest structure at that time. It held this distinction for nearly four decades.
The building takes its name from its groundbreaking use of steel construction, which represented a turning point in how Valencia built tall structures. Walking around it today, you can see how this approach influenced the city's modern appearance.
The building has multiple entrances accessible from both Calle Xàtiva and Plaza de San Agustín. Being located in the city center, it is easily reached by public transportation and nearby streets.
During construction, people arriving from Estació del Nord gave the building a humorous local nickname based on their spontaneous reactions at seeing the rising structure. This playful term became part of the city's popular memory.
