Castillo de las Escobetas, Military fortress in Garrucha, Spain.
The Castillo de las Escobetas features three sections, including a central rectangular structure with rounded edges and a pyramid-shaped right section with loopholes.
Construction of the fortress began in 1769 under architect Francisco Ruiz Garrido, costing 181,000 reais to protect against Berber pirates along the coast.
The Spanish Ministry of Culture designated the structure as a Bien de Interés Cultural monument in 1963, recognizing its architectural and defensive heritage.
Visitors can access the small museum inside the castle for 2 euros, which includes a 3D film presentation about the structure's history.
The fortress combines both castle and bunker architectural elements, featuring an external staircase on its left section that provides access to the upper levels.
