Plaça de la Font

Plaça de la Font is a neoclassical square in the heart of Tarragona featuring a central stone fountain with four carved faces. The space is bordered by historic buildings including the City Hall and Casa Canals, which now functions as a museum.

The site where this square now stands was once the location of the Roman Circus Maximus, where chariot races occurred in ancient Tarraco. The fountain and neoclassical buildings were added later and have shaped the space into what visitors see today.
