Plaça de la Font, Neoclassical square in Tarragona, Spain

The Plaça de la Font features a central 19th-century fountain with four faces representing the cardinal winds of Tramuntana, Garbí, Llebeig, and Xaloc.

The square stands upon the location of the former Roman Circus Maximus, where chariot races took place during the time of ancient Tarraco.

Traditional Sardana dances occur every Friday evening from June through September, with dancers forming circles accompanied by cobla band music.

The square contains numerous restaurants and cafes with outdoor seating, providing opportunities to taste local cuisine while watching street performances.

The neo-Gothic City Hall and Casa Canals, an 18th-century mansion turned museum, frame the perimeter of this Cultural Asset of Local Interest.
