La Dura Dura is a sport climbing route made of limestone in Oliana standing about 50 meters tall with a difficulty grade of 9b+. The climb demands technical skill and strength throughout, with especially demanding movement sequences along the way.
Chris Sharma created this route in 2009, and Adam Ondra achieved the first successful ascent in February 2013. Sharma completed it himself the following month.
The name translates to 'The Hard Hard,' reflecting how much this climbing challenge pushes both body and mind to their limits.
Bring a 60-meter rope, multiple quickdraws, and proper safety gear to climb here. Spring and fall offer the best conditions, as summer heat and winter cold make the climb harder.
A wildfire in 2022 damaged the rock face and changed some holds and sections of the route. This unexpected event increased attention from climbers around the world.
