Platja de l'Home Mort, Secluded beach in Sitges, Spain
Platja de l'Home Mort is a beach stretching roughly 275 meters along the Mediterranean coast near Sitges, with a mixture of sand and small stones. The waters near shore are shallow and suitable for swimming.
In 1930 this location became one of the first beaches worldwide to officially welcome the gay community. The place gained historical significance as a pioneer in social acceptance.
The beach operates as a space where visitors choose freely how they enjoy the Mediterranean. It has become a gathering place for people who appreciate openness and acceptance.
Reaching the beach requires roughly a one-kilometer walk from the old Atlantida nightclub parking area, following the marked GR-92 trail through nature. The path is well-marked and passes through calm surroundings.
The beach holds an ISO 14001 environmental certification, showing its responsible management. A seasonal beach bar offers music and refreshments for visitors.
