Church-Convent of the Salesas

The Church-Convent of the Salesas is a religious building in Burgos constructed with three naves. The central nave rises higher and extends wider than the lateral sections, while a spacious triforium enhances the interior structure.

Architect Juan Bautista Lazaro designed this convent in the mid-19th century following neo-Gothic principles. Juan Moya later completed the final work on the tower in 1920.

The church displays neo-Gothic style elements with pointed arches and decorative details that reflect the religious architecture of the late 19th century. Visitors can observe these characteristic features throughout the interior spaces.

The building is located on Calle Barrantes and can be visited during certain hours. It is wise to check opening times beforehand to plan your visit properly.

The convent stands across from the Hospital de Barrantes, also known as San Julian and San Quirce Hospital, forming a notable architectural pairing. This juxtaposition of two major institutions shapes the character of this neighborhood area.
