Masbo, Urban beach in Moncofa, Spain
Masbo is an urban beach in Moncofa stretching 800 meters long and 20 meters wide, covered with a gravel surface along the Mediterranean coast in the Castellón region. The entire length provides direct access to the water for swimming and wading.
The beach gained importance in the 1970s when a campsite attracted visitors from around the world, establishing it as a coastal destination. This early growth transformed it into a popular holiday destination in eastern Spain.
The beach serves as a meeting place where locals and visitors spend time together, swimming, walking, and enjoying family moments by the water. It has become a natural hub for coastal living where people gather to experience the Mediterranean lifestyle.
The beach provides public facilities including toilets, showers, a children's playground, sports areas, and parking for more than 100 vehicles. These amenities make it easy to spend a full day by the water.
The name Masbo comes from a historical water channel that once connected to a former freshwater lake in the Moncofa region. This link to the area's water history is reflected in the place name that locals still use today.
