Palauet Nolla

Palauet Nolla is a 19th-century palace in Meliana featuring a rectangular main structure with a northern tower that was used for storing and drying products. The layout connects living spaces with working areas, reflecting how the business operated within the building itself.

Miguel Nolla purchased the building in 1860 and transformed it into a showroom for his mosaic manufacturing business, which gained international recognition. His operations made this location an important center for tile production in the region during the late 1800s.

The palace displays an extensive collection of geometric mosaic patterns created from mass-dyed stoneware tiles that cover floors, walls, and the tower cupola. These tile decorations reflect the craftsmanship that was developed and refined within this building.

The building opens for guided tours on Saturdays and Sundays and visits require advance registration. Booking can be done through the Meliana City Council mobile application.

The restoration of this complex was completed in 2020 and preserved the original mosaic manufacturing techniques from the late 1800s. Visitors can observe how the handcrafted methods and equipment still reflect the historical production process.
