Peñeta del Moro, Small rocky islet in Cullera, Spain.
Peñeta del Moro is a small limestone outcrop in the Mediterranean Sea off Cullera, rising sharply from the water. The rock has a weathered surface and sits surrounded by shallow waters that reveal marine life below in clear conditions.
A lighthouse was built on the rock in the 19th century to warn ships of the hazard. This structure made it an important navigation marker for vessels traveling along the coast.
The name recalls Moorish seafarers who once navigated these waters, reflecting the long maritime connections of this coast. Today it draws small boats and divers who connect with the area's seafaring past.
Summer months offer the best conditions for visiting, when weather is stable and boat trips are possible. Wearing water shoes or sturdy sandals is helpful if you plan to climb the rocky surface.
The spot is home to rare coral species and small caves tucked into the rock formations. Local divers explore these underwater spaces, adding to the quiet appeal of the location.
