Parròquia de Sant Pacià

Parròquia de Sant Pacià, Gothic Revival church in Sant Andreu, Barcelona, Spain

Parròquia de Sant Pacià is a church in Sant Andreu district built in the late 1800s with Gothic Revival design elements including pointed arches and ornate stonework. The building rises prominently above street level and features the characteristic vertical lines and decorative details typical of its architectural style.

The structure was designed between 1876 and 1881 by architect Joan Torras i Guardiola, who later became known as a mentor figure in architectural circles. This building represents the architectural development of Barcelona during the district's industrial growth period.

The church maintains its status as a Cultural Asset of Catalonia while functioning as an active parish for the Roman Catholic community of Sant Andreu.

The church sits in a residential area with convenient access to Sant Andreu metro station nearby. Visitors can easily reach the building through public transportation and should note that the main entrance is accessible from Carrer de les Monges.

Before becoming a church in 1923, the building served the community in multiple ways, including as storage space and a dining hall during challenging periods. This varied use history reflects the transformations the district experienced across generations.
