Can Saladrigas

Can Saladrigas is a building in El Poblenou, Barcelona, combining industrial and neoclassical features across approximately 1,500 square meters (16,000 square feet). Inside, exposed brick walls frame reading areas, a hall for around 110 people, and study rooms equipped with digital access and internet.

The building was constructed in 1900 as a textile factory and shaped the neighborhood's character from that time onward. It was renovated in 2009 and transformed into the Biblioteca Poblenou-Manuel Arranz, with its industrial features deliberately preserved.

The library holds collections about Catalan traditions like Castellers and Sardanas, with the space itself serving as a meeting point for people who value these customs. Visitors can experience how these local practices remain part of everyday life in the neighborhood.

The building is located at Joncar 35 and is well equipped for different uses, including a reading hall and study rooms. Digital resources and internet access make it easy to spend time here doing research or simply exploring.

Inside the building sits the Centre d'Imatgeria Festiva de Sant Marti, displaying handmade parade figures used in local festivals within the industrial brick walls. These costumes and props represent real pieces worn and carried during neighborhood celebrations.
