Palau Perpinyà Masferrer

Palau Perpinyà Masferrer is a three-story Renaissance palace with four ground-level portals and balanced window openings across the upper floors. The building features characteristic Renaissance windows with ornate frames and includes galleries with square windows in the attic level.

The building became the residence of the Perpinyà family, whose members held important roles in local administration. A notable historical event occurred when Archduke Charles, a contender for the Spanish Crown, stayed there in January 1710.

The building displays a central Renaissance window with curved moldings, supported by decorative sculptural elements and a relief showing two lions with a coat of arms. These ornamental details reflect the wealth and status of the family who occupied the residence.

The building is located at Plaça de la Porxada in Granollers and is easy to reach on foot. Visitors can view the exterior and appreciate the architectural details and facade from the street and surrounding plaza.

The palace was closely connected to Francesc de Perpinyà, an influential representative who opposed Barcelona's surrender in 1714. A commemorative plaque was installed in 2022 to honor his resistance against this pivotal historical defeat.
