Presa de Talarn

The Presa de Talarn is a concrete gravity dam spanning 180 meters across the Noguera Pallaresa River and rising 86 meters high. The structure impounds water to create a reservoir while its solid construction is visibly embedded into the river canyon.

Construction began in 1913 and was completed in 1916, reflecting early advances in the country's dam engineering techniques. The project was part of regional efforts to harness hydropower for energy supply.
