Pazo de Lóngora is a romantic manor house built in an L-shaped design with a stone fountain, a courtyard-style entrance, and decorative seasonal statues surrounding a converted pool area. The property sits on agricultural lands planted with fruit trees, characteristic of a traditional country estate.
The manor was built in 1772 and served as a summer residence for musician Marcial del Adalid during the 19th century. Later it also hosted writer Francisca Gonzalez Garrido, connecting the estate to the artistic and literary circles of its time.
The property displays traditional Galician architectural elements including granite masonry and carefully cut stone blocks on its facades. These regional building styles connect the structure to local construction methods common throughout the area.
The estate is currently used by the University Institute of Environment at the University of A Coruna and is not open to visitors. Access to the grounds is restricted as it serves as a private academic facility for research and educational purposes.
A large wrought iron balcony supported by stone brackets replaces the inner facade of the L-shaped structure. This ornate metalwork is accessed by a staircase with tall railings and reflects the skilled craftsmanship of the romantic period.
