Zamariaingo begiratokia, Scenic viewpoint in Garaioa, Navarra, Spain
The Mirador de Zamariain is a natural rock ledge in the Valle de Aezkoa, within the Irati Forest in northern Navarra. The rock juts out over the valley with no railing or barrier, giving an open view over beech and oak forest and small villages below.
The Irati Forest, where this viewpoint sits, was managed for centuries to supply timber to the villages of the valley and beyond. The rock ledge became known to a wider public only as hiking routes in the area grew more popular in recent decades.
The walk starts from the village of Garaioa along a marked trail through the forest. The final section at the rock ledge has no barrier, so visitors should be careful, especially in wet or windy conditions.
Unlike most viewpoints in the area, the Mirador de Zamariain has no railing or fence at the edge of the rock. Visitors who prefer a safer option can find similar views with protected walkways at the nearby Mirador de Ariztokia.
