Al Nejashi Mosque

Al Nejashi Mosque is a mosque in the Tigray region with white walls, multiple domes, and minarets that reflect Ethiopian architectural elements. The complex contains 15 tombs of early Muslim followers and features simple yet meaningful stone structures.

This site was founded during the first Islamic migration to Africa in the 7th century and offered sanctuary to early Muslims fleeing persecution. It represents one of the oldest Islamic sites on the continent and has been preserved through the centuries.
