Königstedt Manor

Königstedt Manor is a grand house painted in yellow and white that sits on the banks of the Vantaa River in the Riipilä area. Inside, the rooms feature Empire-style furnishings with soft grey tones and carefully chosen accent colors throughout.

The property first appeared in records in 1511 and received its current form in 1816 when State Counsellor Jacob Wilhem Hisinger oversaw its construction. This building style defines how the house and its rooms look to visitors today.

The interior rooms display Empire and Gustavian furniture that visitors can see arranged to show the taste and customs of wealthy residents from the early 1800s. Walking through these spaces, one senses how people of that era chose to live and entertain.

The estate covers 35 hectares of land managed by the Finnish Government and includes farm areas, stables for horses, and apple orchards spread across the grounds. Access may be limited at times since the property functions as an official state retreat.

The house hosted international peace negotiations, including talks in 2005 aimed at resolving the Aceh conflict. These diplomatic events show how the property has played a significant role in world affairs.
