Nivala Church

The wooden church structure stands at 81 meters above sea level, featuring architectural elements typical of early 19th-century Finnish religious buildings.

Simon Silvén designed the church, which was completed in 1803 and underwent substantial renovations in 1874 under architect Frans Wilhelm Lüchow's guidance.

The church cemetery contains the burial site of Kyösti Kallio, the fourth President of Finland, making it a location of national significance.

Located at Kirkkotie 6 in Nivala, the church belongs to the Diocese of Oulu and continues to hold regular Lutheran services for the community.

The initial construction included a separate belfry, which was later integrated into the main church structure during the 1874 renovation project.
