Ylivieska Church

The modern stone church features rustic brick walls, wooden interior elements, and large windows that allow natural light to flood the sanctuary space.

The current building, completed in 2021, replaced the original 1786 wooden church that was destroyed by fire, with its ruins commemorated by a cross.

The church serves as a central gathering place for the community, hosting regular Lutheran services, weddings, and social events throughout the year.

The church opens Monday through Thursday from 10:00 to 17:00 during summer, with Sunday services at 10:00, offering parking and electric car charging stations.

The bell tower, constructed from Corten steel, changes color naturally over time from metallic gray to dark brown through a patination process.
