Kone Oy:n entinen pääkonttori, Former corporate headquarters in Vanha Munkkiniemi, Helsinki, Finland
Kone Oy's former headquarters in Vanha Munkkiniemi is a five-story white concrete structure divided into two sections: Park House with nine floors and Town House with three floors. An underground parking facility serves the entire complex.
Architect Keijo Petäjä designed the structure, which served as KONE Corporation's main office from 1973 to 2002. The company later relocated to Keilaniemi, leading to changes in how the building was used.
The construction sparked local opposition, including from film director Edvin Laine, but the project preserved the historic Munkkiniemi Manor nearby.
Since 2019, the building houses residential units with modern facilities like a sauna, gym, and clubhouse in former storage areas. Visitors should note that this is now a private residential complex with limited public access.
The original office windows remain intact, offering residents today the same views that corporate executives enjoyed for nearly three decades. This continuity of perspective connects the building's former work life to its present residential purpose.
