Château de la Roche Courbon

The limestone castle rises above French-style gardens with geometric flower beds, topiary sculptures, and a central mirror pool reflecting the architecture.

Initially constructed in 1475 by Jehan de Latour, the fortress underwent transformation into a residence during the 17th century under the Courbon family ownership.

The interior presents 17th-century decor elements, including a bathroom with painted wood panels and period sculptures dating from 1662.

Visitors can explore the castle and gardens through guided tours, participate in seasonal events, and engage in family activities from February to December.

The gardens required extensive engineering, with deep piles driven through marshland to reach sandstone bedrock for stable foundation support.
