Parc du Thabor, Urban park in central Rennes, France

The Parc du Thabor extends across 10 hectares, featuring French gardens, English landscaping, a grotto, a music pavilion, and a rose garden with 2000 varieties.

The grounds originally belonged to the Benedictine Abbey of Saint-Melaine until 1793, when the city of Rennes acquired them through an exchange with the state.

The park serves as a central venue for cultural events, with exhibitions held in the orangery and the annual Mythos festival taking place within its grounds.

The park maintains seasonal hours, opening at 7:30 AM year-round, with closing times varying from 6:30 PM in winter to 8:30 PM during summer months.

The botanical section contains 884 trees, including rare species of sequoias and magnolias, while providing shelter for numerous bird species in its aviary and duck enclosure.
