Pont d'Arcole, Arch bridge in Paris

The Pont d'Arcole is a prominent steel and arch structure crossing the Seine in the heart of Paris.

Named after the Battle of Arcole, this bridge was inaugurated in 1856.

The Pont d'Arcole connects the city hall with the Île de la Cité, ingraining itself into the daily life of Parisians.

Designed by Alphonse Oudry and Charles Alfred Oppermann, this utilitarian bridge facilitates traffic movement across the river Seine.

Notably, the Pont d'Arcole was the first Parisian bridge to be built entirely of metal.
