Pont d'Arcole, Steel arch bridge in 4th arrondissement, France.
The Pont d'Arcole stretches 80 meters across the Seine River, connecting the Ile de la Cite to the Hotel de Ville with its iron structure.
Completed in 1856 by architects Alphonse Oudry and Charles Alfred Oppermann, this bridge replaced an earlier pedestrian crossing from 1828.
The bridge name relates to either Napoleon Bonaparte's victory at the Battle of Arcole or a young republican who died during the 1830 Revolution.
The structure reaches 20 meters in height and serves as a vital connection in Paris road network, allowing vehicle traffic between both riverbanks.
This bridge marked engineering innovation as the first in Paris constructed without support pillars in the Seine River, using a single low arch design.
