Château de Guermantes, Baroque castle in Guermantes, France.
Château de Guermantes is a Baroque castle in Gouvernes featuring brick walls with stone facings and tall slate roofs. The H-shaped layout incorporates pavilions flanking the main structure symmetrically on either side.
Claude Viole initiated construction of this structure, which was later acquired by Paulin Pondre, who commissioned renovations by renowned architect Jules Hardouin-Mansart completed in 1710. These extensive modifications shaped its current Baroque appearance.
The castle served as a filming location for several well-known movies, bringing its rooms and architecture to a wider audience through cinema. This cinematic history has established the property as a place where history and entertainment intersect.
The property contains 12 meeting rooms and 112 bedrooms, making it well-suited for seminars and events accommodating large groups. The generous infrastructure allows different types of gatherings to take place at one location.
The garden was designed by André Le Nôtre and features a terrace with steps leading to a water feature. This water feature creates a carefully composed visual interplay by reflecting the castle's facade.
