Château d'Argy

Château d'Argy is a Renaissance castle in Argy, France, featuring a two-level gallery beside its keep. Defensive elements such as machicolations and the remains of a drawbridge mechanism are still visible on the building.

Construction began in 1101, and the castle evolved over time through major changes. The Brillac family oversaw significant renovations during the 15th and 16th centuries that shaped the building into its current form.

The name comes from the Argy family, who lived here for generations and shaped the building's character. Visitors can walk through the rooms on guided tours and learn about daily life during medieval and Renaissance times.

Guided tours are offered in French and should be arranged ahead of time. The castle is located next to the town hall, making it easy to find and access when visiting.
