Château de Loisy, Medieval castle in Loisy, France
The castle stands on a rectangular terrace with two circular towers at its northwest and southwest corners, overlooking the Seille Valley.
The initial fortress was established around 1150 by Hugues de Brancion, with the current structure dating from a 1748 reconstruction by Claude de la Michodière.
The castle maintains its 17th-century wall paintings and decorated ceiling in the southeast tower, representing architectural elements from different periods.
The castle remains a private residence and requires prior arrangements for visits, located at coordinates 46° 34′ 56″ N, 5° 01′ 49″ E.
The estate includes two circular defense towers equipped with arrow slits and cannon positions, remnants from the second castle destroyed in 1565.
