Château de Loisy

The Château de Loisy is a castle built on a rectangular terrace with two circular towers positioned at its northwest and southwest corners. The structure overlooks the Seille Valley and incorporates architectural features from different construction periods.

An initial fortress was founded around 1150 by Hugues de Brancion on this site. The present-day structure was rebuilt in 1748 by Claude de la Michodière following the destruction of a predecessor castle.

The castle displays 17th-century wall paintings and decorated ceilings, particularly in the southeast tower. These interior spaces preserve decorations from different periods and offer glimpses into how residents lived across centuries.

The two circular towers are equipped with arrow slits and cannon positions, features from a destroyed predecessor. These defensive elements reveal how earlier inhabitants prepared the estate against attacks.
