Château de Comper, Medieval castle in Concoret, France

The castle stands at the edge of Paimpont forest, featuring a Renaissance manor surrounded by ramparts, two curtain walls, and the Gaillarde tower.

The castle belonged to Baron Raoul de Gaël-Montfort in the 11th century, who participated in the Norman conquest of England alongside William the Conqueror.

The castle houses the Arthurian Center with exhibitions dedicated to the legends of Merlin and King Arthur from medieval literature.

The castle contains exhibition spaces, walking paths through the grounds, and views of Lake Viviane, with entrance accessible through a single road.

The adjacent Lake Viviane holds legendary significance as the supposed location of a crystal palace built by Merlin for the fairy Viviane.
