The Oak of Hindrés measures 23 meters in height with a circumference of 5.07 meters at 1.30 meters above the ground, displaying tortuous branches.
This sessile oak tree, dating back approximately 500 years, stands on former druidic ceremonial grounds within the Paimpont forest of Brittany.
The tree includes small chapels integrated into its structure, reflecting centuries of spiritual practices and community gatherings in the Brittany region.
Visitors can access the oak through a farm track from D59 road toward Plélan-le-Grand, following a forest path that leads to the protected site.
The French national forestry office maintains a protective enclosure around the tree, accompanied by a poem written by Marc Benredjem.
