59 Rivoli, Artist collective in rue de Rivoli, Paris, France.
59 Rivoli is an artist collective housed in a six-story Haussmannian building on rue de Rivoli with approximately 30 art studios. Painters, sculptors, and multimedia artists work and display their creations in a shared space that brings together different artistic practices.
In 1999, artists transformed an abandoned former bank building into a creative space that the city of Paris officially recognized in 2006. This transformation made the location a pioneering example of artistic reclamation of urban spaces.
The collective thrives on direct exchange between artists and visitors who come to see open studios, exhibitions, and events throughout the building. You feel the living energy through shared projects and spontaneous artistic encounters in the spaces.
The space is located near Châtelet metro station and opens Tuesday through Sunday from 1 PM to 8 PM without admission charges. Visitors can move freely through the building to explore the various studios and exhibitions at their own pace.
A spiral staircase connects all floors and displays an ever-changing collection of murals contributed by new artists. This constantly evolving element makes each visit and every ascent a visual journey through the building.
